Sacramento, CA | Detectives are looking for answers in the wake of  an early morning Del Paso Heights homicide.

At approximately 3:15 a.m. Saturday morning, Sacramento Police Officers were called to the 2500 block of Traction Avenue for a report of a subject that had been shot. According to Sacramento Police, when they arrived they found a 26 year-old-man down on the ground with a wound to the upper chest.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the man to the hospital where he was then pronounced dead.

While the incident occurred in front of an apartment complex and active bike-path, even at 3 A.M., police where finding little to no information from people in the area, on scene officers stated.  An abandon bike was discovered on the bikepath overlooking the scene location.

The incident is actively being investigated and the Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact the dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). A homicide occurred at this location October 24th of last year.
