Sacramento, CA | A large, wood playground structure burned early Saturday morning in McKinley park.

Sacramento firefighters responded to a report of a fire at McKinley Park on Alhambra Blvd. early Saturday morning. When they arrived they found the large wood playground structure fully involved with fire and the trees above catching fire.

Fire crews got an initial knockdown on the blaze quickly, however the clean up and complete extinguishment was going to take several hours due to the burning wood chips on the ground and the wood materials the playground structure was built from according to Battalion Chief Jonathan Williams, Sacramento Fire Department.
