Sacramento, CA:  A house hoarder’s home catches fire, causing fire suppression issues for firefighters.

Monday evening, Sacramento City Firefighters were called to a home in the 2600 block of 52nd Avenue for a reported structure fire. When firefighters arrived they had smoke coming out of the front door. As firefighters made entrance to attack the fire in the front of the home, they were met with stacks of boxes and pathways through the home.

After extinguishing the fire that was contained to the front of the home, firefighters could not even make access to the back of the home to open windows for smoke evacuation. The fire department declared the home inhabitable and called the Red Cross to aid the single male occupant with housing. No one was injured in the fire and the cause is under investigation.
