Sacramento, CA | A fire alarm in the penthouse of a downtown high-rise prompts a full-scale response by Sacramento City Fire Department.

A fire alarm in the State Street Bank Building at 9th and J Streets prompted a full-scale commercial high-rise fire response Sunday afternoon. Several engine and truck companies, ambulances and command staff responded to the alarm in the event there was an actual fire in the building.

As firefighters stormed in the building and scaled twenty-five flights of stairs, areal ladders were put in place and raised on the corners of the building.

The alarm was coming from the penthouse and may have been caused by equipment failure. No smoke or fire was found.
