Sacramento, CA | The suspect wanted for the homicide party shooting that took place early Sunday morning, was arrested Sunday evening.

Sacramento Sheriff Department and  Sacramento Police Department arrested the suspect wanted for shooting five people at a party on Fig Street earlier Sunday morning. One of the victims was fatally wounded.

Per SacPD press release, “on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Fig Street on a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital where the male in his 30’s died. The three other victims took themselves to the hospital.

“The Sacramento Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene.  It was determined that an altercation broke out and the suspect shot five people.

“The investigation led to the identification of the 23-year-old suspect, Michael Walton. At 8:20 p.m., in the 2500 block of Cottage Way, officers stopped a vehicle Walton was a passenger in and arrested him.
