Sacramento, CA | After colliding with an abandon vehicle early Saturday morning, a propane truck nearly careens off a bridge.

Just before 3 A.M. Saturday morning, the driver of a KIVA Energy propane truck smashed into a parked, abandon vehicle on the bridge of west bound Interstate 80 just west of West El Camino. The semi ended up spralled across all the lanes of the freeway, crashed through the guard rail in the middle of the bridge and came to rest with part of the cab hanging off the bridge.

The guard rail fell below where it impacted hot power lines bringing them down onto Garden Highway below. The sparking lines then ignited a fire on the roadside.

No one was injured in the incident however the diesel fuel tanks of the truck leaked large amounts of fuel. The incident left the west bound lanes of I-80 closed for several hours as crews cleaned up the wreckage. The lanes were reopened at 7:43 A.M.
