Sacramento, CA | Sunday afternoon, a South Sacramento man, grows unstable and violent. Family in fear calls police and standoff ensues.

Late Sunday afternoon, a South Sacramento man became belligerent and out of control in the 7800 block of 39th Ave. per Sacramento Police Depart spokesman. He became so violent that his family, in fear, called authorities.

When officers arrived the man had busted out car windows and even threw a sword at officers. Police cruisers flooded the area and officers donned helmets and shields as well as rifles.

With Sacramento Police Department’s “Air 1” helicopter orbiting overheard to keep a birds-eye view on the situation, officers strategically moved in cornering the suspect into the corner of the garage, Sac PD told us. When the man would not surrender, the K9 was deployed and the man was apprehended with only a dog bite.

The suspect was taken to UC Davis by paramedics to be treated for his dog bite and a mental evaluation. The mans family returned to their home.
