South Sacramento, CA | Per SacPD, copper theft crimes are becoming common place.

Early Monday morning, SacPD was called to Payless Shoes on Stockton Blvd across KMart, for a ringing alarm. It turns out that the ringing alarm was a water flow alarm that was activated when thieves attempted to strip the store of it’s outer and roof top copper pipes. During the attempt, they broke a water line that activated the water flow alarm. Officers and firefighters arrived to find some of the copper laying across the parking lot still attached to the building. The suspects remain at large.
