An intoxicated Male subject led police on a vehicle pursuit in South Sacramento early Friday morning. The pursuit ended when the vehicle hit a power pole on the side of the road near the intersection of Lindale and Chandler.
DUI driver with passengers leads authorities on wild pursuit. Ends on in South Sac after hitting power pole, knocking out power to 1600 and passengers critically injured.
The accident lead to a power outage in the area and knocking out power to traffic signal lights at nearby intersections including Florin Rd. and Stockton Blvd and causing several near-collisions.
The driver and several passengers in the vehicle were transported to Kaiser South and UC Davis Medical centers.
SMUD is reporting that over 1600 customers were left without power and estimates that power should be restored in the area by 4:15 am.
