South Sacramento, CA  | Firefighters quickly extinguished a debris fire in front of a South Sacramento home Wednesday morning.

Sacramento City Fire responded to a report of a structure fire early Wednesday morning in  the 2100 block of Bernard Way.  When firefighters arrived, they found a debris fire next to the front porch of the residence and quickly extinguished the blaze.  The fire was reported by a neighbor who came home and saw the flames.   The witness attempted to wake the residents to no avail by banging on their window.  He stated that the flames were 8 to 10 feet high and lit up the whole front of the house. There were no injuries and no obvious damage to the home.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
