SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Detectives are investigating after a person was found deceased inside a home earlier this week.

Around 8:10 p.m. Thursday, Sacramento police officers responded to a home on the 3500 block of 63rd Street near 11th Avenue after receiving a request for assistance from the fire department. Paramedics had responded to address for a reported medical aid, and when they arrived, they found an adult male deceased inside the home.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the home and took over the investigation. Officers also canvassed the area for any evidence and potential witnesses.

The cause of death has not been determined at this time, but the identity of the victim has been released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Gary James Wadkins, 52. The Coroner was not able to confirm Wadkins residence city.
