SACRAMENTO, Calif. – An investigation is underway after a fire broke out inside a duplex overnight.

Just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to a reported fire on the 7500 block of Persimmon Avenue in South Sacramento.

When crews arrived, they found smoke showing from the front door of a single-story duplex.

Firefighters started their fire attack, and got the flames knocked down in a short amount of time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
