INFO FROM SACRAMENTO SHERIFF’s DEPARTMENT

On October 18, 2017, at 7:40 p.m. the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Communication Center received a 911 call from the 5600 block of Nona Way. The caller indicated there was male at the location who had been shot.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene and located a male victim in his early 20’s. Upon locating the victim, deputies began attempting life-saving measures. Personnel from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department arrived on-scene and pronounced the victim dead.

Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are in the process of determining what occurred. At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting and no description of the involved suspect(s).

The identity of the victim, in this case, will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office after notification has been made to his next of kin.
