SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A neighborhood was on lockdown this morning after the SWAT team had to be called in for a search.

Just before 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Sacramento police officers responded for sounds of gunshots in the 6100 block of Dias Avenue, east of Stockton Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they heard two gunshots in close proximity while on scene. Officers established a perimeter around the location and requested assistance from additional officers and from the California Highway Patrol fixed-wing aircraft. The Sacramento Police Department helicopter was later called out to relieve the CHP aircraft.

SWAT and K9 teams responded to conduct a search of the area for the suspected shooter, however were unable to locate anyone connected to the shooting.

Officers did not locate any victims from the incident.

The perimeter was released approximately five hours after the incident started.
