SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A homicide investigation is underway after two bodies were found inside a Meadowview home.

UPDATE: The suspect in this homicide was killed after he shot two police officers on September 7, 2017.

At 9:05 p.m. Friday, Sacramento firefighters responded to a home on the 1400 block of Janrick Avenue for a carbon monoxide alarm sounding. Firefighters requested a law enforcement response after locating suspicious circumstances at the home.

Sacramento police officers arrived and observed smoke coming from the home. Officers entered to clear the home, and while clearing located two unconscious subjects inside. Paramedics entered and declared the two subject deceased.

These two deaths have been ruled homicides by the Coroner. Homicide Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
