Sacramento, CA | Officers following up on illegal drug activity complaints in the community leads to a pursuit and apprehension.

Thursday afternoon, officers were following up on complaints of possible drug and other illegal activity in the Oak Park area when they observed some possible illegal activity at a residence off of 25th Avenue where several subjects were out front. As officers approached, a subject in an Escalade was moving around quickly and raised concern with the officers, said Sgt. Paul Freeman,  Sacramento Police Department.

The officers ordered the subject to show his hands. He put the vehicle in reverse and backed out the long driveway toward the officers and fled.

The subject led officers on a brief pursuit through the community until he footbailed on 9th Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Streets in Oak Park. Officers had to taze the subject and he was taken into custody without further incident.
