Police K9 Stabbed, Suspect Shot In North Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A police dog is recovering after being stabbed.

The details are limited, but aound 9:30 p.m. Monday, a Sacramento Police Department canine was shot near the Kinney police substation on Marysville Blvd. in North Sacramento.

A suspect is in custody and is at the hospital after being shot by police officers. He was caught near the scene of the canine stabbing.

Police radio traffic suggests the suspect rammed his car into the parking lot gate of the police substation. The exact circumstances of the stabbing and shots fired were not immediately known.

The dog was taken to a 24-hour emergency vet for treatment. The suspect was taken to a local hospital.
