ELK GROVE and GRANITE BAY, Calif. – A serial bank robbery suspect wanted by the FBI has been captured this week.

On Thursday, the FBI’s Unknown Bank Robbery wanted suspects page updated the listing for a serial bank robbery suspected wanted out of Elk Grove and Granite Bay to CAPTURED status.

The unknown suspect was wanted for three bank robberies out of Elk Grove, and one bank robbery out of Granite Bay.

Various Chase Bank employees verify to Public Safety News that a serial robber has been arrested. A Chase Bank security guard also confirmed the photos listed by the FBI (link) to Public Safety News as the arrestee.

A press release officially announcing the arrest of the bank robbery suspect and the official name is expected to be released in the next week.

While the suspect has not been identified by the FBI or local law enforcement agencies, the Elk Grove Police Department confirms to Public Safety News that they made an arrest in the case and that more information will come available in the near future.

Based on all non-identifying information, a records search by Public Safety News shows an arrest made by the Elk Grove Police Department on the same day the FBI listed the unknown bank robbery suspect as captured. That subject, identified by inmate records from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department as Joe Felix Gonzales, 31. Gonzales’s inmate log shows his charges as four armed robberies and a warrant arrest for unrelated charges. The four armed robberies charges which the FBI lists for the serial bank robbery match the number of armed robbery charges that the charge log shows for Gonzales. Gonzales appears in court on Monday for a scheduled arraignment.

On Friday, January 13, 2017, at approximately 3:22 p.m., the subject entered Farmers and Merchants Bank located at 8799 Elk Grove Boulevard in Elk Grove, California, approached the teller, and presented a demand note. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject left the bank and walked north through the parking lot.

On Friday, December 30, 2016, at approximately 9:36 a.m., the subject entered Chase Bank located at 6987 Douglas Boulevard in Granite Bay, approached the teller, and presented a demand note. The demand note stating he had a gun, but no weapon was seen. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject left the bank on foot, heading west across the parking lot.

On Saturday, May 7, 2016,, at approximately 2:55 p.m., the subject entered Chase Bank located at 8451 Elk Grove Florin Road in Elk Grove, approached the teller, and presented a demand note stating that he had a gun. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject turned around and walked out of the bank.

On Monday, March, 20, 2017, at approximately 3:29 p.m., the subject entered US Bank located at 9230 Elk Grove Florin Road in Elk Grove, approached the teller, and presented a threatening note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject left the bank on foot.
