SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Firefighters extinguished a bedroom fire inside an Arden-Arcade apartment. 

At approximately 11:09 Saturday night, firefighters responded to a reported apartment fire on the 3800 block of Marconi Avenue in the Arden-Arcade community of Sacramento. 
Firefighters arrived within a few minutes, finding heavy black smoke showing from an upstairs apartment. A quick fire attack was taken, and a knockdown on the fire was reported at 11:18 PM. The fire was contained the one bedroom inside the apartment, with smoke damage to the rest of the unit. 

Officials say the fire appears to have been started with “smoking materials”. The damage is estimated to be around $20,000. No injuries were reported in the fire. One dog was rescued by firefighters during the incident.
